Baseball Falls to Thomas in Non-Conference Contest

THOMASVILLE, Ga. -- The Siena Heights baseball team took on Thomas in the third game of the series on Sunday. The Saints dropped the contest 11-3.

The Night Hawks (11-12 overall) jumped out to a quick start, scoring five runs in the first inning. Neither team scored again until the fourth where the Saints scored one, but Thomas scored another four, extending their lead to eight. Both teams scored a couple more, but the Saints did not have enough to make a comeback.

Freddy Jehle led the Saints (4-14 overall), batting 3-for-4 and recording one run and one RBI. Brenden Baker also finished 3-for-4 at the plate and scored one of the SHU runs. Thomas Lindeman got the start on the mound for Siena Heights, pitching 3.1 innings and suffered the loss. Michael Jones came in for relief and pitched 3.2 innings before Wyatt West finished the ball game going one inning on the mound. 

For the Night Hawks, Taylor Westbrook batted 3-for-4, scored two runs and finished with one RBI. Levi Hollingsworth finished 2-for-4 at the plated while scoring two runs and knocking in four RBI's. Daniel Williams started at pitcher and went five innings while earning the win and striking out a game high, six batters. 

Next up, the Saints will take on Bethel (Ind.) on Tuesday, Mar. 6 in Vero Beach, FL. Game time is set for 11 a.m.
