Baseball Drops Contest to Concordia in Non-Conference Action

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights baseball team hosted Concordia in a non-conference contest on Monday. The Saints fell to the Cardinals 7-2. 

CUAA (11-2 overall) opened scoring in the first inning, bringing home three runs. The Saints scored two runs in the fourth on two errors by the Cardinals but did not cross the plate again. Concordia tacked on four more in the sixth. 

Jack Slavin led Siena Heights (3-10 overall), batting 2-for-4 and scoring on the the runs for the Saints. Brendan Green scored the only other run for SHU and finished 1-for-4 at the plate. Reid Olmstead suffered the loss on the mound for Siena Heights while pitching four innings. Tristan Roth came in for relief, throwing two innings before Jayson Cleghorn, Taylor Acquista and Wyatt West each entered the game for SHU pitching one inning each. 

For Concordia Blaine Milheim led the way batting 3-for-3 and scoring two runs. Hunter Klaassen earned the win at pitcher, only allowing one hit. 

Next up, Siena Heights will host Lourdes in a non-conference contest on Tuesday, Feb. 27. Game time is set for 5 p.m.
