Baseball Falls in Double-Header Against Madonna

LIVONIA, Mich. -- The Siena Heights baseball team dropped two conference games to Madonna with scores of 8-3 and 4-0, on Wednesday.

The Crusaders scored one run in the third and fifth innings against but didn't pull away until the seventh inning when they scored six runs against SHU.

Siena Heights (10-12, 3-5) began to rally back in the ninth inning Nathaniel Kraus, Travis Stricklin and J.R. Dawley all earned RBIs by earning a walk. However, it wasn't enough for the Saints, dropping the first game 8-3.

Kyle Kuhr was given the loss on the mound after pitching 6.1 innings for Siena. E. Piechota took the win for the Crusaders (15-12, 5-2).

In game two, Madonna capitalized early scoring in the first and second innings. The Crusaders added two insurance runs in the fifth.

John Kavanagh took the loss as he threw five innings for SHU, allowing eight hits, four runs and earning four strikeouts. J. Rodriguez pitched all seven innings for the Crusaders allowing only one hit and earning seven strikeouts. 

The Saints will be back in action on Saturday when they take on conference opponent Concordia in a home double-header, starting at 1 p.m.
