LAKE WALES, Fla. -- The Siena Heights baseball team split games against Saint Francis (Ind.) and Spring Arbor. The Saints started the day with a convincing 7-0 win over USF and then fell 14-9 to the SAU Cougars, on Thursday.

Against Saint Francis the Saints came out strong, Daniel Muller hitting a home run during his first at bat. In the third, Travis Stricklin doubled and advanced to third on an error. Freddy Jehle hit a sac-fly to left field to send Stricklin home.

In the fourth, Carson Wlad hit one out of the park, sending home Joe Williams. Ryne Sanders walked after Stricklin hit a double, both reaching home due to errors. The Saints scored their final run in the sixth inning with a home run from Matthew Bondy.

Joe Williams and Zach Dunlop led the Saints defense with six and five put-outs, respectively.

Justin McPherson pitched the first five innings earning the win for SHU by allowing only two hits and earning two strikeouts. He was relieved by Ben Finn who threw two strikeouts and no hits.

The Saints started off slow against Spring Arbor, allowing nine runs in the second inning. Kyle Kuhr threw for 1.2 innings, allowing three hits and walking three batters. Tayler Thelen relieved Kuhr, walking one and allowing two hits.
