Baseball Battles for Comeback Victory

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. -- The Siena Heights baseball team rallied in the seventh inning for a 4-3 comeback victory against Trinity Christian (Ill.) on Tuesday.

Thomas McCarter threw the first four innings, allowing three earned runs in the first inning. He also threw three strikeouts for Siena Heights (2-0).

In the fifth inning, McCarter was relieved by Kyle Khur. Khur threw to three batters and earned two strikeouts.

Through the last two innings, Justin McPherson threw for two strikeouts allowing only one hit. McPherson earned the win.

Going into the top of the seventh, the Saints trailed 3-0. With runners on first and second, Freddy Jehle hit a single, sending Travis Stricklin home from second. Two singles from Daniel Muller and Zack Dunlop tied the game up for the Saints, 3-3.

Joe Williams reached first on an error that allowed the Saints winning run to score.

Jehle went 4-of-4 while Dunlop went 2-of-4 and Austin Forsythe went 1-of-1 in pinch hitting.

Tanner Reklaitis threw the whole game for the Trolls (10-4). He allowed 11 hits, three earned runs and had nine strikeouts.

Next up, the Saints will take on Saint Francis (Ind.) and Spring Arbor on their first day of the Warner Tournament. Games will start at noon and 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
