Saints drop final games in Florida

Lake Wales, Fla. -  Siena Heights dropped the final two games of their Florida today losing 4-1 to Bethel and to Bellevue 16-1.

Bethel jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the 6th after Tayler Thelen lost his no hit bid earlier in the inning.  The Saints cut the lead in half in the bottom of the eighth when Freddy Jehle scored on a Dennis Sharp single.  Bethel added two more runs in the ninth to make it 4-1.  
On the mound Thelen threw 7 1/3 giving up 2 runs 0 earned on four hits. He struck out 2 during his time on the mound.  
In game 2 Siena Heights jumped out to an early lead in the top of the first when Drew Milligan scored on an error to make it 1-0. That would be all the scoring the Saints could get against Bellevue who rattled off 16 unanswered runs the final nine innings.
Taking the loss for the Saints was Thomas McCarter who went 3 2/3 innings.
The Saints will return to action on Friday March 13, when they play a double header at Indiana Wesleyan.
