The following was printed on Kim Rector's HOF plaque:

Kim Rector was more than just a two-sport athlete during her four-year career at Siena Heights University.  She was a two-sport star that played two “skill positions” skillfully.  Rector, the first Saints’ volleyball player to be inducted into the Siena Heights University Athletic Hall of Fame, earned All-District and All-Academic Team honors at the setter position.

Included among the many volleyball awards she received are the Coach’s Award, Senior Leadership Award, and the Most Valuable Player award in 1996.  An intense leader and role model, Rector was a co-captain on several Siena Heights volleyball and softball teams during her collegiate career.

Rector was a sure-handed shortstop on the 1995 Saints’ softball team that captured NAIA District #23 and Bi-District championships.  The ’95 Saints, who were inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2001 in the Team Category, are still the only Siena Heights softball team to compete in the NAIA National Championships.

Rector was a two-time All-District and All-Academic softball team honoree in 1996 and 1997.  In addition to her volleyball and softball achievements, Rector was a charter member of the SHC National Science Honor Society, a member of both the American Chemical Society and the American Institute of Biological Science; and also participated in the Siena Heights Innovative Leadership Program.
