The following was printed on Dr Mike Dawson's HOF plaque:
Dr. Mike Dawson has been associated with Siena Heights’ athletics for nearly five decades. Paul “Doc” Bodenbach, the Saints’ first athletic trainer and a member of the SHU Athletic Hall of Fame, recruited Dr. Dawson to serve as the athletic department’s orthopedic surgeon in 1978. Over the course of his lengthy and loyal affiliation with the Saints, Dawson has also served as the team physician and as a volunteer football coach.
In 2011, Dr. Dawson received the Siena Heights University Honorary Alumni Award for his support of the university through both philanthropy and service. The athletic department’s fitness center bears Dr. Dawson’s name, as does the Saints’ turf field at O’Laughlin Stadium. Dr. Dawson is also a member of the Siena Heights University Board of Trustees.
