The following was printed on Mike Caro's HOF plaque:

The Siena Heights University men’s track & field program has an outstanding NAIA National Championship history in the throws events. Mike Caro etched his name in that history and in the Saints’ record books in 2003 and 2004. Caro became the second thrower in three years to capture an NAIA individual national championship in the men’s hammer throw with a distance of 186-06 in Olathe, KS. He narrowly missed becoming the second Siena Heights athlete to win two national track & field titles when he placed second in the hammer throw at the 2004 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships in Louisville, KY. His runner-up distance in 2014 was 181-08, and he also established the Saints’ school record that same year in the hammer throw with a toss of 193 feet. Caro earned NAIA All-American Scholar-Athlete status in 2013 and served as a graduate assistant coach for the Saints after graduating in 2014.
