The following was printed on the 1991 Softball Team's HOF plaque:

Under the guidance of head coach Al Sandifer, the 1991 Siena Heights College softball team had the best season in the program’s history.  The Saints posted a 35-15 overall record, which included a NAIA District #23 championship, a Bi-District Championship and a appearance in the NAIA Softball National Championships.

The ’91 Saints became the first Siena Heights softball team to compete in the NAIA Softball National Championships.  Seeded 15th in the 16-team national tournament, the Saints upset 2nd-seeded University of West Florida 6-5 in the first round of the tournament.  The Saints lost to the University of Puget Sound 6-3 in the second round, and Puget Sound went on to the championship game. To date, no other Siena Heights softball team has qualified for the national championship tournament.

The 1991 roster included five current Siena Heights University Athletic Hall of Famers—1999 inductee Shelly Lizyness; 2000 inductees Tanya Dickerson  and Shelly Vanderveen; and 2001 inductees Debbie Chavis and Cris Strehl.
