The most prolific scorer in the history of Siena Heights men’s soccer, Sam Skeels led the Saints in goals scored in each of his four seasons as a starting forward.  Skeels’ record-breaking career got off to a brilliant start in his freshman season in 1998 when he led the team with 28 goals, 19 assists and 75 total points, all of which are single-season scoring records.  Skeels’ career goals (100), assists (51) and total points (251) are also rank #1 in the Saints’ record books. At the time of his induction into the Siena Heights University Athletic Hall of Fame, he ranked #8 all-time in the NAIA in total points and #11 in goals scored.  During his four-year career, the Saints compiled an overall record of 58-22-4, and Skeels compiled a career-high 22 game-winning goals.  Skeels was the 2001 male recipient of the Thomas A. Emmet Sr. Award, and he earned NAIA All-American Scholar-Athlete honors in that same year.  He was also named to the NAIA All-American Honorable Mention Teams in 1999, 2000 and 2001.
