The following was printed on Wade Perry's HOF
plaque:
Wade Perry set eight school records between 1984 and 1986 in
cross country and track and field at Siena Heights College.
After fifteen years and many national championship performances,
most of those records still stand. Perry earned his first of
two NAIA All-American honors with a 12th-place finish at
the 1984 NAIA Cross Country Championships.
Perry was also the District #23 individual champion in
’84, and his time of 24:33 remains the best time ever by a
Siena cross-country runner (set in 1985 and tied by Matt Geha in
1996).
Perry also earned NAIA All-American honors at the 1986 NAIA
Indoor Track & Field Championships in the mile run.
During his cross country and track career at Siena Heights, Perry
won six NAIA District #23 championships.
Perry was a four-time NAIA All-American Scholar-Athlete (twice
in cross country and twice in track and field) and he received the
Thomas Emmett Award as the outstanding male student-athlete at
Siena in 1985.
