The following was printed on Bevin Malley's HOF
plaque:
While she was blessed with physical talent and tremendous
intelligence, it was her uncommon courage and unmatched work ethic
that raised Bevin Malley’s game and the Siena Heights
women’s basketball team to new heights during her four-year
career. Malley earned Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference
Freshman of the Year honors while being named to the All-WHAC
Conference Team in 1997. She captained the Saints in her
junior and senior seasons and was named to the All-WHAC team three
times. Malley was voted the Saints’ Most Valuable
Player in 1997 and 1999; and she garnered NAIA and KODAK Honorable
Mention All-American honors as a senior in 2000. The 1999
recipient of the Siena’s Thomas A. Emmett Award as the top
female student-athlete, Malley was a NAIA All-American
Scholar-Athlete honoree in 1999 and 2000. She was a two-time
All-WHAC Academic Team selection and a three-time selection on the
National Catholic Basketball Tournament’s Bill Bradley
Scholastic All-American Team. Malley ranks second all-time in
the SHU record books in career scoring average (14 ppg) and
rebounding (999). She established a single-season school
record with 135 made free throws and her 1,534 careers points ranks
#4 all-time for the Saints.
