The following was printed on Carl Brown's HOF plaque:

The only two-time NAIA national champion in the history of athletics at Siena Heights, Carl earned back-to-back national titles in the discus in 1994 and 1995 at the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.  His winning distance of 174’ in ’95 set a school record. 

During his collegiate track & field career for the Saints, Carl earned NAIA All-America honors five times, which is also a school record.  Carl was a runner-up in the shot put at the 1995 NAIA national championships with a school-record toss of 56’ 1 ¾”.

Brown competed in two USA Olympic Track & Field Trials (1996 in Atlanta and 2000 in Sacramento) and placed fourth in the 2000 event.

            Currently, Brown is working on completing his teaching certificate while substitute teaching at Albion High School.  During his free time he is coaching track and training at Albion College.  Brown hopes to compete at the U.S. National Track and Field Events in order to qualify for the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece.
