A Saint for the Day - A Bigger Than Sports Story

A Saint for the Day - A Bigger Than Sports Story

ADRIAN, Mich. - The Siena Heights Football team hosted a member of the SHU community, a young man named Jackson Metevia. Jackson was recently adopted by Kristen Metevia a 5th-grade teacher at Madison.

During the Fall, Coach Bohl along with a few SHU football players who are teacher candidates made it possible for Jackson to be a "Saint for a Day". During the day, football team members Kole Murlin and Andrew Bookman, cheerleaders Levi Long and Celia Druschel, as well as senior dancer Bridget Sacca, spent time with Jackson before the game. Spending time on the field and behind the scenes, Jackson got to experience what it is like to be a Saint! Coach Bohl had t-shirts made with Jackson's name on the back, along with an awesome basket of swag gear.

As an honorary Saint Jackson's story is being shared to raise awareness for his Cerebral Palsy diagnosis as well as in the hope to raise money from the young man. Recently Kristen Jackson's adoptive mother has discovered he is eligible for a service dog.
