Women's Volleyball Defeats RCU in Three for Third Straight Win

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights women's volleyball team won its third straight match, taking a 3-0 sweep over Rochester Christian in WHAC play on Friday night. Set scores were 25-21, 25-18, 25-21.

Olivia Norman led the Saints (9-3, 4-1) with 18 kills, compiling an .571 hitting percentage. Kei Sullivan added eight kills and three blocks while Devyne Eisenhauer totaled seven kills and 15 digs.

Emalee Maesch put down eight kills, Aubrey Bates made 39 assists and Jessica Holsapple hammered five aces.

On the defensive end, Melina Hanes finished with 11 digs.

The first set was the definition of back-and-forth as the teams battled through 19 tie scores, including every point from 11 through 21. The Saints finally broke the stalemate with four consecutive scores.

A 9-0 Siena Heights run helped the visitors pull away to a 2-0 lead through two. Holsapple ripped four of her aces in that stretch.

SHU broke a 6-all tie early in the third and held off a late RCU charge to complete the sweep.

The Saints will return to play on Wednesday with a 7 p.m. WHAC contest at Indiana Tech.
