Saints win 3rd straight game

Rochester, Mich.  – The Siena Heights women's lacrosse team dominated Rochester College by a score of 27-9.

Records: SHU (6-7, 4-2 WHAC), Rochester (0-6, 0-6 WHAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED

Siena came out scoring in the first half of the game. They got out to a 6-0 run within the first seven minutes. Mackenzie Fisette scored the first goal followed by Mariah Smythe. Then Jenna Sommerville and Calli David netted a goal each. Skylar Parks and Megan Byers added two goals during the 6-0 run. Rochester got on the scoreboard with 23 minutes left in the half with a goal. Shortly after, Casey Rappuhn scored a goal to put the game at 7-1. Rochester scored another goal then Reilly Winn added a goal for SHU. RC got back to back goals with 12 minutes left in the first half. The score was 8-4 when Samantha Pawlowski gave the Saints another goal. Rochester would once again respond back with another to make it 9-5. But then the Siena got on a 8-1 run to finish the first half. Alexis Nicole scored then Katherine Tapia and Natalie Williams added a goal. Tapia, Sommerville three times, and Danielle LaPointe finished the scoring run sending the halftime score to be 18-6.

In the second half Siena started off with back to back goals by Sommerville and Nicole. Then Rochester scored their first goal seven minutes into the half. Siena responded with four straight goals by Sommerville, Tapia, Kristin Delclos, and Nicole. With 11 minutes left in the game Rochester and Siena traded a pair of goals to make the game 25-8. To wrap up the game, Sommerville and Pawlowski each scored a goal and the game ended with a score of 27-8.
