Grand Rapids, Mich. -- The Siena Heights men's basketball team lost to Cornerstone 84-66 this afternoon in the second round of the WHAC Tournament.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Saints and Golden Eagles squared off for the winner to move on and play for the WHAC Tournament Championship. Cornerstone started off the game with a 12-2 in the first four minutes of the game. The Saints would chip away at the Golden Eagles lead but never got anything going for the first ten minutes of the game as CU was up 30-14.
Cornerstone continued to add to their lead going into halftime. DeMarco Dickerson had a and-one lay up just before the buzzer went off for halftime to give the Saints some momentum. Halftime score was Golden Eagles up 45-32 on the Saints.
SHU opened up the second half with a 8-2 run to cut Cornerstone's lead down to 10 with 17 minutes to go left in the game. From there on CU and Siena would score back to back buckets and the deficit was 13 with 10 to play.
Cornerstone would keep the lead till the final buzzer as they would win 84-66.

• DeMarco Dickerson would have 21 points in the game and going 7-7 at the free throw line
• Keith Jordan Jr. had 12 points and 10 rebounds
THE OPPOSITION
• Christian Rodriguez had 19 points and 8 assists during the game
• Carter Nyp scored 15 points and shot 50% from FG and 3PT
SEASON WRAP UP
The Saints finish 2018-19 with a 17-13 overall record and a 12-9 conference mark. Siena with 17 wins was the highest since 2009-2010. The team had one player selected first-team All-WHAC, one chosen second team, one to the Champions of Character, and one to WHAC All-Academic.
