Siena Heights Finishes Regular Season With a Loss

Adrian, Mich. -- Siena Heights men's basketball team lost their final regular season game vs. Cornerstone this evening.

THE BASICS

Final Score: Siena Heights 75, Cornerstone 94

Location: Adrian, Michigan (Fred Smith Court)

Records: Siena Heights (16-12, 12-8 WHAC), Cornerstone 23-7, 16-4 WHAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Saints and Golden Eagles faced off for the final WHAC regular season contest of the year. Cornerstone had a hot start by getting a early lead on Siena which they were able to maintain the rest of the half. SHU shot 40% on FG and went 4-9 on three pointers. Cornerstone was able to control the board in the first half as Siena could not get an offensive rebound. The Golden Eagles took a 41-35 lead into halftime.

SHU made a comeback in the second half as they edged closer and closer to Cornerstone lead. PJ Austin came off the bench in the second half and scored 15 points. He went 4-5 on three pointers and had a big 4 point play to tie the game. Siena however could not hold the lead as Cornerstone went on a 22-3 scoring run to end the game.

Keith Jordan Jr. finished with 19 points and 3 blocks

• DeMarco Dickerson had 16 points including 6 rebounds

 

THE OPPOSITION

• Sam Vander Sluis had 28 points to lead the Golden Eagles

The Saints will host the opening round of the WHAC tournament on February 21st at 7:30. Matchup will be announced later this week to see who Siena will play.
