VANCOUVER, Wash. -- Siena Heights women's cross country Ashley Russo rounded out her cross country running days with a 43rd finish at the 2017 NAIA Cross Country National Championships, presented by Nike, on Saturday.
The five-kilometer race took place at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site. SHU's lone runner, Russo, finished in 18:27 for 43rd place and her best time of the season. The individual winner was Aminat Olowora, a senior from Oklahoma City, beating the second place finisher by 30 seconds with a time of 16:50.
British Columbia won with an average time of 18:04, a five-person total of 1:30:16. The top Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference team to finish was Aquinas, taking fourth place with an 18:21 average time.
This was Russo's fourth appearance at the NAIA National Cross Country Championships.
