Women's XC Takes Fifth at WHAC Championship; Russo Earns Frist Team All-WHAC

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Siena Heights women's cross country runner Ashley Russo finished seventh in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Championship as the Saints took fifth of eight, on Saturday.

Russo crossed the finish line in 18:32, 20 second behind the individual winner, Milissa Winchester from Aquinas, who finished in 18:12.

Patricia Santos-Buitrago was the next Saints' runner to finish, taking 21st in 19:38. Claiming spots 33 and 36, respectively, were Megan Rosales in 20:12 and Anna Buist in 20:33.

The fifth finisher for SHU was Anna Buist, crossing the finish line in 20:52 to claim 43rd.

As a team, Siena Heights ran a five-person time of 1:39:48 to earn an average of 19:57 and 140 points. Aquinas won the race with an overall time of 1:32:48, totaling 38 points.
