Cross Country Heads to Muskegon For The Jayhawk Cross Country Invitational

The Siena Heights men's and women's cross country teams are set for travel to the Jayhawk Cross Country Invitational in Muskegon, Mich., hosted by Muskegon Community College, on Friday. The race is set to start at 1:30 p.m.

Last race, the men were led by Anthony Vermilye who finished in sixth place with a time of 25:58.1 at the Lansing Invitational on Friday, Oct. 6. SHU had a five-person total time of 2:12:58 with an average time of 26:35 for the 8k course, earning a total score of 76 to take first place in the 21-team field.

The women's team last competed on Friday, Oct. 6, at the Bethel Invitational as the Saints claimed 9th of 18 teams. SHU had 244 points with a five-person time of 1:39:49.8 to average 19:58.0 on the 5k course. Siena Heights was led by Ashley Russo who took 10th, crossing the finish line at 18:41.2.

Both teams will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 21, at the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge at Riverside Park in Grand Rapids, Mich.
