Russo Takes Second to Help Women's XC to Second at The WHAC Championship

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Ashley Russo took second place to help the Siena Heights women's cross country team to a second place finish at the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Cross Country Championship, on Saturday.

Russo finished the 5k wet, muddy course in 18:26.1 less than 30 seconds behind first place performer Tiffany Rauch from Indiana Tech, finishing in 18:02.7.

Finishing in 11th and 13th place for the Saints was Lauren McMahon and Mariah Ridal, respectively. McMahon came in at 19:13.0, then exactly 10 seconds later Ridal crossed the finish line at 19:23.0.

Kristin Stobinski came in at 19:45.5 to earn 20th place. Again, exactly 10 seconds later Katie Figuras finished at 19:55.5, taking 24th.

Siena Heights finished with a combined time of 1:36.43.3 for 70 place points, beating NAIA 21st-ranked Indiana Tech and receiving-votes Madonna. Aquinas came in first place with a compiled time of 1:34:11.6 for 29 place points.

Earning All-WHAC First Team honors for the Saints was Ashley Russo. Lauren McMahon and Mariah Ridal each earned All-WHAC Second Team honors.

The Saints await their fate, waiting for an at-large bid to go to Elash, Ill. for the NAIA Cross Country Championship.
