Russo Finishes Sixth at IWU Helping Women's XC to Third

MARION, Ind. -- Ashley Russo finished in sixth place individually helping the Saints to a third place finish in the Indiana Wesleyan Twilight Invitational, on Friday.

Russo finished the 5k course in 19:07.2, less than 50 seconds behind first place finisher Sarah McBeth. Mcbeth finished the race in 18:25.9 for Indiana Wesleyan.

Lucia Alfaro finished in 17 place with a time of 19:38.3. Mariah Ridal crossed the finish line at 19:47.6 for 19th place, followed closely by Kristin Stobinski in 19:48.8 for 20th place.

Finishing in 31st place for the Saints was Lauren McMahon in 20:05.3, rounding out the SHU scorers.

Overall, SHU had a compiled time of 1:38:26, about four minutes behind winning squad Taylor (Ind.), finishing in 1:34:12. Indiana Wesleyan came in second with a compiled time of 1:37:02.

Siena Heights will be back in action on Friday, Sept. 23, at the GRCC Raider XC Invitational in Grand Rapids.
