Women's Volleyball Fall on the Road Against Cornerstone

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Siena Heights women's volleyball team fell on the road at Cornerstone on Saturday afternoon. Janel Ruhlman led the Saints in both kills (6) and digs (13) in the match.

Final Score: Cornerstone 3, Siena Heights 0 (25-11, 25-20, 25-16)

Records: Cornerstone (26-9, 14-5 WHAC), SHU (16-13, 9-9 WHAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED

Cornerstone's defense held Siena to negative hitting percentages in the first two games to earn the 2-0 lead. The Golden Eagles had 11 kills and a .310 hitting percentage in game one and 12 kills (.143) in the second game.

The third set was the best offensively for Cornerstone as the team had a hitting percentage of .324 on its way to a 25-16 game-three win and a 3-0 match win.

TOP SAINTS

= Ruhlman added two blocks to her totals.

= Carrigan Gray paced the offense with 15 assists in the match. She also tallied three kills, nine digs, and a blocks.

= Bianca Negron contributed two assists and 12 digs on the day.

= Ashleigh Shay and Eriona Chambers each tallied two blocks respectively.

THE OPPOSITION

= Kendra Zwart led Cornerstone with 12 kills and nine blocks.

= Kayla Clark set the tone offensively with 30 assists. She also had three kills, two aces, four digs, and three blocks.

= Mackenzie Vallad led the defensive effort with 15 digs.

UP NEXT

The Saints face Northwestern Ohio on Wednesday, October 31 at 7:00 p.m. The match will end a four-game road trip for Siena.
