Breton, Hudgin and Metz Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

Siena Heights women's volleyball sophomore, Paige Hudgin and seniors, Amanda Metz and Libby Breton were named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District team, as announced on Thursday.

Hudgin, a nursing major, currently holds a 4.0 GPA. This season on the court, Hudgin helped the Saints to a 25-7 overall record. She finished the season with 249 kills, averaging 2.31 kills per set. She also added a team second best, 428 digs for 3.96 digs per set.

The English/Language Arts major, Metz, boasts a 4.0 GPA to go along with a team leading 1,022 assits for the season. She averaged 8.89 assists per set. Metz also has contributed 292 digs, 122 kills and 53 total blocks.

Breton the biology major, also maintains a 4.0 GPA. She helped the Saints to a WHAC tournament third seed, finishing second for Siena Heights with 255 kills -- 2.26 kills per set. She led SHU in attack percentage of .286. Breton also led the Saints with 124 total blocks -- 15 solo and 109 assisted. Breton was named a member of the CoSIDA Academic All-District and Second Team All-American in after the 2016 season.

In order to be eligible for this award, the student-athlete must maintain a minimum 3.3 GPA on a 4.0 scale, have reached sophomore status, and compete in at least 50 percent of the team's contests. This award recognizes student-athletes for their combined performance athletically and academically.
