Women's Volleyball Fights Back to Grab Victory Over Aquinas

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Siena Heights women's volleyball team traveled to Aquinas for a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference match-up on Wednesday and was able to battle back to grab the victory in five sets. 

The Saints (16-2, 6-1 WHAC) struggled early, finding themselves down two sets to none losing the first 19-25 and also the second 17-25. The third set is when the tables turned. Siena Heights fought and was able to come away with the set win by a score of 34-32, bringing the match to Aquinas 10-9, 5-3 WHAC), two sets, to SHU's one. The Saints went on to win the fourth set 26-24 to force the match to a fifth set where they finished off Aquinas 15-13 to clinch the match victory.

Christine Tylutki led the Saints with, 23 kills and 17 digs. Amanda Metz dished out a team leading, 46 assists, while also adding 23 digs. SHU was led at the net by Abby Whitehead, contributing six assisted blocks and Gabrielle Kalugar finished with a team leading 44 digs. 

Next up, the Saints will host Indiana Tech in a WHAC contest on Friday, Oct. 6. First serve is set for 7:30 p.m.
