Women's Volleyball Earns 11th Victory With Wins Over IU-South Bend & Goshen

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Siena Heights women's volleyball team continues to win with two victories on Saturday over IU-South Bend (Ind.) and Goshen (Ind.).

SHU (11-1) opened the day with an early match against the IUSB Titans. The Saints opened strong by winning the first two sets 25-16 and 25-17, respectively. The Titans (4-5) fought back, catching the Saints off-guard with a 25-16 third set victory then a close 25-20 set win over SHU. Siena Heights had the last word as they won the fifth and final set 15-12.

Leading the Saints in match No. 1 was Christine Tylutki, who earned 13 kills. Paige Hudgin added 12 kills and 20 digs, while Gabrielle Kalugar tacked on 22 digs. Setter Amanda Metz earned 34 assists while managing six kills and 16 digs. SHU was out-blocked by IUSB 13-8.

Next up, Siena Heights managed Goshen (6-6) with a clean 3-0 sweep with set scores of 25-20, 25-15 and 25-17. Libby Breton lead the Saints with 11 kills while Metz tallied 28 assists and five kills. Ashleigh Shay, Tylutki and Breton each earned four block assists.

Siena Heights will return to action on Wednesday as they travel to WHAC-newcomer Rochester for a 7 p.m. contest.
