Women's Volleyball Goes 2-0 in Day One of Concordia Kick-Off Tournament

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Siena Heights women's volleyball team traveled to compete in the Concordia Kick-Off Tournament on Friday. The Saints faced off against Mount Vernon Nazarene (Ohio) and Evangel (Mo.).

In game one against Mount Vernon Nazarene, SHU won in three sets by scores of 25-15, 25-22 and 25-15. Paige Hudgin led the Saints with 13 kills and also contributed ten digs. Amanda Metz distributed 28 assists while Gabrielle Kalugar finished with 16 digs. Taylor Purcell was the Saints leader with three assisted blocks.

The Saints took on Evangel in game two of the day and defeated the Crusaders, 3-1 with set scores of 25-21, 19-25, 25-18 and 25-21. Hudgin led SHU again with 16 kills, while Abby Whitehead added ten kills and three blocks. Metz finished with 38 assists and Kalugar with 30 digs.

Next up, Siena Heights will compete in day two of the Concordia Kick-Off Tournament on Saturday. At noon, SHU will take on Spring Arbor, and Rochester at 4 p.m.
