ADRIAN, Mich. -- The sixth seed Siena Heights (21-11, 8-8 WHAC) women's volleyball team hosted the seventh seed Lawrence Tech in the first round of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference tournament on Saturday. SHU defeated the Blue Devils in three sets. Set scores were 25-16, 25-19 and 25-21.
Paige Hudgin led the Saints offense with 21 kills and was followed by Taylor Felver with nine. Amanda Metz finished with a team high, 37 assists.
Gabrielle Kalugar completed the match with 16 digs and was closely followed by Hudgin with 13. Libby Breton assisted on blocking a team high, four LTU attacks.
Lawrence Tech (18-17, 8-8 WHAC) was led by Zakia Hunt with 11 kills and five assisted blocks, Kristi Doherty with 26 assists and Makenna Strunk with 10 digs.

Set one: Siena Heights 25, Lawrence Tech 16
LTU was in control for most of the set until Siena Heights took it's first lead at 16-15. The Blue devils tied the score at 16-16 before the Saints finished off the set on a 9-0 run.
Set two: Siena Heights 25, Lawrence Tech 19
Lawrence Tech led for the beginning of the set again, and started out quick with a 8-3 lead. Siena Heights rallied back with a 7-0 run where they tied, and then eventually took the lead. LTU fought back but SHU was able to hold them off for the set two victory.
Set three: Siena Heights 25, Lawrence Tech 21
The score was close though the whole set with the final tie coming at 15-15. The Saints scored the tiebreaker and was able to hold on to the lead for the match win.
Next up, the Siena Heights women's volleyball team will travel to take on No. 3 seed Cornerstone in the WHAC tournament quarterfinals on Wednesday, Nov. 9. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
