The Siena Heights Women's Volleyball Team topped St. Xavier in the opening game of the Cornerstone/Aquinas Classic, winning in three sets.

Siena Heights took the first set 25-17, after finding themselves down late in the second set, the Saints rallied and won the second set by a score of 27-25.  The third set ended 25-17 as well.

Paige Hudgin and Taylor Felver led the balanced attack with six kils each.  Libby Breton and Abby Whitehead each added five kills with Amanda Metz adding four kills.  Metz led the way with 20 assists to go along with 10 digs.  Gabrielle Kalugar led the Saints with 14 digs.  Hudgin and Felver each had three aces for the Saints as well.

In the second match of the night, the Saints lost in four sets to St. Francis (Ind.).  The first set went back and forth with the Saints on the short end of the 28-26 score.  St. Francis took the second set 25-22 before the Saints won the third set 25-20.  The fourth set was once again a close back and forth affair with the Saints coming up just sort on the 25-23.

Hudgin led the attack for the Saints with another 12 kills.  Metz added 40 assists and three aces.  Kalugar had 21 digs to lead the team while Hudin added 10 digs and Haley Oleson added 11.

With the split the Saints move their record to 16-7 overall.  They will return to action on Saturday when they face Governors State University and Indiana University South Bend.
