ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights women's volleyball team hosted No. 10 Lourdes and dropped the match, 3-0 on Wednesday. Set scores were 25-21, 25-12 and 25-22.

Paige Hudgin led the Saints (15-6, 6-4 WHAC) with seven kills and was followed closely by Libby Breton with six. Amanda Metz dished out 24 assists.

Gabrielle Kalugar and Hudgin both recorded a team high, 11 digs on the night while Taylor Purcell assisted on blocking three attacks for SHU.

No. 10 Lourdes (17-3, 11-0 WHAC) was led by Stef Comte with 11 kills and Meghan Birr with 37 assists. Stephanie Ruffing completed 15 digs while Ave Stout finished with two assisted and two solo blocks.

Set one: Siena Heights 21, Lourdes 25
Scoring was back and fourth thoughout the set with the final tie at 21-21. Lourdes scored the final four points for the set one win.

Set two: Siena Heights 12, Lourdes 25
Lourdes took off on an early 5-0 run putting the score at 4-10. SHU was never able to recover and dropped the second set.

Set three: Siena Heights 22, Lourdes 25
Scoring was traded throughout the set with the final tie at 19-19. Siena Heights continued to battle and brought the score to one at 23-22 but it was not enough.

Next up, the Siena Heights women's volleyball team will travel to Grand Rapids for the Aquinas/Cornerstone classic where they will take on St. Xavier (ILL.) at 5:00 p.m. and St. Francis (ILL.) at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 14. On Saturday, Oct. 15 SHU will face off against Indiana-Southbend at 10:00 a.m. and Governors State (ILL.) at 1:00 p.m.
