Women's Volleyball Begins Season With Split

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The Siena Heights women's volleyball team opened its season with a split, earning a 3-0 win over Lawrence Tech before falling to Goshen (Ind.), 3-2, on Friday at the Concordia Kickoff Tournament.

The Saints began the day with their sweep of LTU (0-2) in a non-conference match between Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference squads. Set scores were 25-16, 25-15, 25-12.

Against Goshen (2-1), Siena Heights won the second and fourth sets, but fell short in the final set as the Maple Leafs won with set scores of 25-23, 18-25, 25-16, 17-25, 15-13.

Siena Heights (1-1) will meet Spring Arbor at 11 a.m. on Saturday before finishing up with a 1 or 3 p.m. match in the final round.
