Faith Jackson Hits a Career-High in 100 Hurdles to Lead SHU at St. Francis (Ill.) Chance

JOLIET, Ill. – A group of Siena Heights women's track and field athletes competed in the two-day St. Francis (Ill.) Chance Meet on Friday and Saturday, May 13-14.

Faith Jackson won the 100 hurdles with an A-Standard time of 14.44. That mark was also Jackson's career-best time in the event.  

The 4x400 relay team of Jenna Salek, Tiffani Larder, McKenna Russell, and Chelsea Short finished fourth with a time of 3:59.07. Daijah Hill was fourth in the high jump with a clearance of 1.61m. Larder placed fourth in the long jump with a leap of 5.47m.

Erin Gotha was sixth in the hammer throw with a mark of 45.26m. Narpreet Singh finished with a seventh-place showing in the javelin with a heave of 33.00m. Brianna Hatfield was eighth in the high jump after clearing the bar at 1.56m. Short had the final top-ten finish with a time of 59.51 in the 400m to place 10th in the event.

The SHU women's track and field athletes that have qualified for the NAIA Outdoor Championships will now make their way to Gulf Shores, Alabama to compete in the national meet that begins on Wednesday, May 25.
