In the first weekly rankings by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) the Siena Heights women's track and field team was ranked in the No. 5 spot for the 2018 indoor season.
Last season, the Saints took ninth place at the 2017 NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships while eight athletes earned the title of NAIA All-American.
Claiming the No. 1 rank is fellow Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference member Indiana Tech, who also won the WHAC Indoor Track and Field Championship title in 2017.
SHU returns to action on Friday and Saturday at the Finclay Classic, hosted by Findlay (Ohio).
