Marquardt, Johnson Lock Down National Champion Titles as Women's T&F Takes Third

GULF SHORES, Ala. -- Stephanie Marquardt and Marissa Johnson each earned the title of National Champion in their respective events while the Siena Heights women's track and field team placed third overall in the 2016 NAIA Outdoor Championships.

Marquardt crossed the finish line in 13.43 seconds in the 100m hurdles for her fastest time of the season and the National Champion title.

Johnson cleared the bar at a PR of 5 feet, 9.75 inches (1.77m) to earn the National Champion title in the high jump. Phoenix Duncan finished runner-up, clearing the bar at 5 feet, 8.5 inches (1.74m).

In the marathon, Kristin Stobinski ran the 26.2 mile course in 3:23.06.30 to take home sixth place and All-American honors.

Ashley O'Neill was the top Saints finisher in the discus throw with a fourth place toss of 154 feet, 3.5 inches (47.02m), earning All-American status. Also earning an All-American title with a 144' 7.25" (44.07m) throw was Rebecca Cousineau in eighth place.

As a team, the Saints finished in third place with 53 points. They trailed runner-up Indiana Tech (66 points) and champions Concordia (Neb.), winning with 71 points.
