ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights women's soccer team stumbled in a 4-1 loss at O'Laughlin Stadium against Mount Vernon Nazarene on Wednesday night.

The Saints (0-1-1) outshot the Cougars (1-0-0) 8-6 in the game despite the losing effort. MVNU struck first with a goal in the 27th minute that was booted into the upper right side of the net off a cross-field pass. Isabel Remar (Jr./Lowell, Mich.) knotted things up at 31:12 when she put a shot away that deflected off a Cougar defender during a scrum on a corner kick. Mount Vernon Nazarene would recapture the lead in the final two minutes with a header off a free-kick and the score was 2-1 as the teams entered the locker room at the half.

A second header off of a free-kick extended the MVNU lead to 3-1 with just under 40 minutes left in regulation. The final score was netted from 15-yards out in the 54th minute and the Cougars pulled away 4-1. Marissa Young (Jr./Genoa, Ohio) led Siena with three shots, two of which were on goal.

FRESHMAN DEBUT: Gabriella Arana (Lansing, Mich.) made her collegiate debut for the Saints during the contest.
