Four SHU Women's Soccer Players Named 2018 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes

KANSAS CITY -- Seniors Kelsey Cheaney and Taylor Mulder along with juniors Madeline Reau and Kathryn Gordon were named 2018 Daktronics NAIA Women's Soccer Scholar-Athletes the national office announced.

Mulder is on the list for the second time in her career while the other three make the list for the first time. This year's list includes 732 student-athletes that achieved at least a 3.5 cumulative grade points average (GPA).

In order to be nominated, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended two full years as a non-transfer or one full year as a transfer.

Indiana Tech and Madonna each had seven student-athletes on the list to lead the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) members. Cornerstone tallied six selections while Concordia (Mich.) and Lourdes each had five. Siena and Lawrence Tech had four student-athlete representatives. Rochester and UNOH had three while Aquinas and Michigan-Dearborn rounded out the WHAC representatives with two scholar-athletes on the list.
