SHU Lose In Opening Round of WHAC Tournament

Livonia, Mich. The Siena Heights women's soccer team lost to Madonna in the opening round of the WHAC Conference Tournament this afternoon.

How It Happened:

On a cold Halloween day the Crusaders got out to an early lead in the game when they scored in the 3rd minute. The Saints were able to only put up two shots on goal in the first half of play.

During the start of the second half Siena and Madonna went back and forth down the field but both teams defense were able to hold off getting shots taken on them. Once the 51st minute hit, Madonna netted their second goal of the game. SHU had a couple late scoring chances but could not capitalize.

Top Saints:

  • Kara Bishop (Sophomore, Allegan, Mich.) made two saves in the game

The Opposition:

  • Nicolette Vultaggio and Jamie Moceri scored the goals for Madonna

Up Next:

The SHU women's soccer team's season came to an end with the loss today. The Saints finished with a record of (13-4-0) and a WHAC conference record of (6-5-0). Taylor Mulder (Senior, Saline,  Mich.) lead the team in goals scored and points this season with 17 goals and 40 points. Bishop capped off the season with a 7-1-0 record in net for the Saints and making 35 saves in 11 games played.
