8 Saints Win WHAC Women's Soccer Honors

The Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference announced the 2018 women's soccer awards on Wednesday, October 31. Eight Saints were honored with an award this season.

Julia Stancato (Junior, South Lyon, Mich.) took home three honors in the season. She was honored as WHAC Defensive Player of the Year, WHAC First Team All-Conference, and WHAC All-Academic. Stancato started in all 18 games for the Saints as she scored six goals, 15 points, and 26 shots on goal throughout the year. These are Stancato's first WHAC end of the season honors of her career.

Taylor Mulder (Senior, Saline, Mich.) earned two WHAC honors. She was honored WHAC First Team All-Conference and WHAC All-Academic. Mulder lead the WHAC in points with 40, goals with 17, 81 shots, 50 shots on goal, and finished fourth in game winning goals. This is Mulder's second WHAC All-Academic honor of her career as she was honored last year as well. Also this is her second WHAC All-Conference First Team award as she was awarded it in 2015. In 2016, Mulder was given WHAC All-Conference Second Team.

Paige Rachut (Senior, Plainwell, Mich.) earned WHAC Second Team All-Conference this season. Rachut ended the season with seven goals and 20 points which were both second on the team. This is her second WHAC Second Team All-Conference award as she was honored in 2017 also.

Kelsey Cheaney (Senior, Canton, Mich.) was honored with WHAC All-Academic Team. Cheaney started in all 18 games for SHU and recorded one goal and one assist. Cheaney was also honored on the 2017 WHAC All-Academic Team.

Kathryn Gordon (Junior, Canton, Mich.) was awarded WHAC All-Academic Team as well. Gordon played in 18 games on the season as she scored two goals. This is Gordon's first WHAC end of the season honor in her Career.

Madeline Reau (Junior, Temperance, Mich.) earned WHAC All-Academic Team also. Reau played in three games for the Saints and recorded three shots. This is her first WHAC honor in her career.

Madison Tedora (Senior, Tecumseh, Mich.) was honored with WHAC All-Academic Team. Tedora played in 14 games were she had one assist and six shots on goal. She also earned WHAC All-Academic Team last season.

The Siena Heights women's soccer team will take on Madonna in Livonia, Mich. this afternoon at 2 PM for the quarterfinal round in the WHAC Tournament.
