Siena Heights Set To Play In WHAC Tournament

Adrian, Mich. – With the Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference women's soccer regular season games closing out on Saturday, the Saints get ready to compete in the WHAC tournament.  

Siena Heights finished the regular season with a 13-5-0 overall record and a 6-5-0 conference record. SHU finished fifth in the WHAC standing giving them the fifth seed going into the conference tournament. Siena is slotted to play the four seed Madonna on Wednesday, Oct. 31st at 2 p.m.. With the Crusaders being the higher seed, the game will take place at Madonna in Livonia, Mich.

Madonna broke the Saints nine game win streak on Sep. 29th when they won 3-0. The Crusaders finished their season with a 12-4-2 overall record and a 7-2-2 conference record.

Siena's leading goal scorer is Taylor Mulder (Senior, Saline, Mich.) as she has record 17 goals on the season. In the backfield for SHU Julia Stancato (Junior, South Lyon, Mich.) has been a top defender for the Saints as well as scoring six goals on the year creating a dual threat against opponents. Madonna's leading point scorer and goals leader this season is Jamie Moceri. In net for the Crusaders is Julia Stewart who has a record of 9-4-2 this season and made 73 saves.  

Last year in the Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference tournament Siena Heights came in as a three seed and defeated Indiana Tech in the opening round. Then in the semifinals, Siena won against Madonna sending them to the championship game where they would defeat the number one seed UNOH to take home the championship. Siena is looking this year to win their 12th WHAC conference tournament championship.
