Saints Blank The Eagles

Elgin, Ill. The Siena Heights women's soccer team earn their fifth win of the season by defeating the Judson Eagles. The saints continued to have a strong offensive performance as three saints scored goals. Taylor Mulder (Senior, Saline, Mich.) had two goals on the day.

The Basics:

Score: Siena Heights 4, Judson 0

Location: Elgin, Ill

Records: SHU (5-0-0) Judson (1-3-0)

How It Happened: 

The saints played a great game all around as the offense was able to put up four goals and the defense only allowed six shots. SHU struck first on the board as in the 22nd minute Macy Llewellyn (Sophomore, La Porte, Ind.) scored unassisted to give Siena a 1-0 lead. The saints offense would continue to score in the first half as in the 31st minute Mulder scored her first goal of the day by a pass from Ashley Strong (Sophomore, Howell, Mich.). Quickly after Mulder's first goal, she would score again in the 37th minute to make it a 3-0 game going into halftime. The second half once again was dominated by Siena. The saints would score one more time in the game as Danielle Eastman (Senior, Clark Lake, Mich.) would tally another goal from an assist by Kelsey Cheaney (Senior, Canton, Mich.). 

In goal for SHU was Kara Bishop (Sophomore, Allegan, Mich.) who would earn the win and get the shutout. 

Top Saints:

-Mulder scored her 7th goal of the season, already tying her goal mark from last season

-Llewellyn would score her first collegiate goal

-Eastman was able to earn her 15th career goal

The Opposition:

-Jessica Cardoso led the eagles offensively as she had 2 shots

-Two eagles were in goal during the day to combine for 8 saves
