Saints Beat the Foresters

Huntington, Ind The Siena Heights University women's soccer team won their first road game of the season this afternoon. Taylor Mulder (Senior, Saline, Mich.) scored her fifth goal of the season. Also, Julia Stancato (Junior, South Lyon, Mich.) scored her second goal of the season. 

The Basics: 

Final Score: Siena Heights 2, Huntington (Ind.) 1

Location: Huntington, Indiana (King Stadium)

Records: SHU (4-0-0) Huntington (1-3-0)

How it Happened:

The saints and the foresters were able to score all their goals in the first half this afternoon. Huntington was able to strike first on the scoreboard as in the 6th minute Jordan Adam put a ball in the net. The saints would strike back quickly as Mulder would score on a assist from Paige Rachut (Senior, Plainwell, Mich.). SHU would take the lead in the 26th minute as Stancato scored unassisted. 

From the 26th minute on, it was all a battle of defenses. Each team would put up shots but nobody could score. In net for Siena was Kara Bishop (Sophomore, Allegan, Mich.) as she made 10 saves. 

Top Saints:

-After coming off of a WHAC player of the week honor, Mulder scored her fifth goal of the season.

-Stancato was able to score her second goal of the season.

-Rachut got her 8th career assist today

-Bishop earned her first collegiate win 

The Opposition:

-Jordan Adam was the only forester to score

-In goal for Huntington was Autumn Demott, who made 11 saves

Siena Heights stays on the road to play Judson (Ill.). Kickoff is Saturday, Sept. 8th, 2018 at 1:00PM EST.
