Three saints score today to help earn a victory over Robert Morris (Ill.)

Adrian, Mich. The Siena Heights University women's soccer team earns their third win of the season from a strong performance by goaltender Sophia Lentz (Junior, Kalamazoo, Mich.). Lentz made 8 saves in net while giving up zero.

How It Happened: 

The saints defense played strong for the second straight game. Siena wraped up the weeked by earning back to back shutout wins. Saints offense would thrive again as in the 8th minute Paige Rachut (Senior, Plainwell, Mich.) would score to give SHU the early lead in the game. Later on in the first period, Ashley Strong (Sophomore, Howell, Mich.) would net a ball in the back of the goal to give Siena the 2-0 advantage going into halftime. Siena would have another great scoring chance as in the early 80th minute, Strong would make a great pass to Taylor Mulder (Senior, Saline, Mich.) as Mulder would give the saint a 3-0 lead.

In goal, Lentz played great as seven Eagels tried to score on her but nobody was succesfful.

Top Saints

-Strong scored her second goal of the season. She also got her second assist of the season.

-Rachut scored her first goal of the season and eighth of her career.

-Mulder continues to score as she netted her fourth goal of the season in three games.

-Danielle Eastman (Senior, Clark Lake, Mich.) got her first assist on the season.

The Opposition: 

-Lexi Langloss lead the way for the eagles as she had three shots.

-In goal for Robert Morris was Jenna Ashley, who made seven saves.

Up Next: 

Siena Heights goes on the road for the first time this season on Wed. Sept. 5, 2018 as they travel to Huntington (Ind.). Kickoff is schduled for 4:00pm EST.
