Bogg and Bartelotti Sweep WHAC Player of the Week Honors

Siena Heights women's soccer goalkeeper Meghan Bogg was named the Defensive Player of the Week and forward Samantha Bartelotti was named the Offensive Player of the Week by the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference, on Monday.

Bogg was essential to the 2-1 victory in the WHAC Tournament Semifinal against Madonna as the Saints brought down the higher seed to advance to the WHAC Tournament Final. The keeper made seven saves in the second half, including two key saves where she parried the ball over the crossbar to keep the Saints ahead. She made nine saves overall to earn the win.

Bartelotti took part in four of the Saints' six goal on the week, earning her first career hat trick against Indiana Tech in the WHAC Tournament Quarterfinal, SHU winning 4-2, as she scored the first three goals all unassisted. The Royal Oak, Mich. native tallied the Saints' first goal of the day against Madonna, finished a rebound from a Taylor Mulder shot to put Siena Heights on the board in only 19 seconds.

This is both players first time receiving weekly honors this season. Bartelotti previously was named an offensive player of the week during her 2015 season.

Siena Heights will continue their WHAC Tournament play on Saturday as they take on NAIA second-ranked Northwestern Ohio. Kickoff is slated for 2 p.m. in Lima, Ohio.
