Bartelotti Nets Three in Women's Soccer WHAC Quarterfinal Victory Over Indiana Tech

ADRIAN, Mich. – Samantha Bartelotti led the Siena Heights women's soccer team to a 4-1 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Tournament Quarterfinal victory over Indiana Tech, scoring three goals for the Saints, on Wednesday.

Bartelotti started the scoring in the 15th-minute as she dribbled the ball down the sideline from 50 yards out, beating three defenders and driving the ball past the IN Tech keeper from ten yards out. She struck again at the 19-minute mark as she did a quick stepover and turn, sending the ball far post to put the Saints up 2-0.

Early in the second half, Indiana Tech's Tori Singstock converted a penalty kick to close the gap, 2-1. Bartelotti answered again as she finished a shot from 13 yards out, which ended up as the game-winner for the Saints. Julia Stancato added an insurance goal in the 59th-minute, finishing a through ball from Paige Rachut. The Warriors (7-9-2) scored the final goal of the match at 84:08, Kayla Saffran hitting the post and scoring off of a cross from Bailey Elliott.

Leading the Saints (10-6-2) in shots was Taylor Mulder, taking seven shots with three on frame. Danielle Eastman, Rachut and Bartelotti each managed four shots for SHU. Four different Warriors took two shots each, Shelby Lucas putting both on target.

Winning-goalkeeper Taylor Hill made four saves for the Saints while IN Tech keeper Chloe Parker stopped seven shots.

Siena Heights outshot Indiana Tech, 32-10, as the Warriors' defense blocked many of the Saints shots heading for goal. SHU also held a 6-2 corner kick advantage.

With the win, Siena Heights will advance to the WHAC Tournament Semifinal and take on the No. 2 seed Madonna. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. in Livonia, Mich.
