Penalty Kicks Guide Women's Soccer to Overtime Victory Over Indiana Tech

ADRIAN, Mich, -- Penalty kicks decided the match as the Siena Heights women's soccer team won 3-2 in overtime over Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference foe Indiana Tech, on Wednesday.

Opening the scoring in the 6th-minute was Tori Singstock with a driven shot from 25 yards out to put the Warriors up 1-0.

In the second half, both the Warriors (7-6-1, 4-2-1 WHAC) and the Saints converted penalty kicks from Taylor Mulder and Sigstock, respectively, as Indiana Tech held the lead 2-1. At the 75-minute mark, Samantha Bartelotti tied it up with a quick turn-and-shoot attack from six yards out after a pass from Mulder. The 2-2 score held through the end of regulation.

At 93:06, Siena Heights (8-5-2, 5-1-2 WHAC) earned a penalty kick that would decide the Saints' fate. Emily Burkman stepped up and hit it to the right side of the goal to give SHU the 3-2 overtime victory.

The Saints were led by Mulder who took eight shots, including four shots on frame. Bartelotti also managed four shots on target for SHU. Leading the Warriors with six shots was Tori Singstock.

Starting in goal for the Saints was Meghan Bogg, who played 70 minutes and made three saves while allowing two goals. She was relieved by Taylor Hill who made one save in overtime to earn the win. Chloe Parker stopped 11 shots for the Warriors.

Siena Heights outshot the Indiana Tech, 29-11, while holding a 7-2 corner kick advantage.

Next up, Siena Heights will travel to Rochester for a 2 p.m. WHAC contest, on Tuesday, Oct. 25.
