Women's Soccer Drops WHAC Match to Concordia

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The Siena Heights women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest to Concordia, on Wednesday.

Starting the scoring early was Samantha Bartelotti, netting a shot 2:22 into the match. Concordia answered in the 39th-minute as Samantha Golchuk finished a pass from Nina Palushaj to tie it 1-1. Only four minutes later, Jyllian Coggins netted the game-winner at 42:22 for the Cardinals (5-4, 1-1 WHAC).

The Saints (4-5, 1-1 WHAC) took 12 shots in the second half, including eight on frame, but were unable to convert.

Leading Siena Heights in shots was Bartelotti, taking seven shots with five on frame. Julia Palushaj took five shots for the Cardinals, including four on goal.

In goal, Taylor Hill made seven saves for the Saints while winning goalkeeper Maria Lulajuraj made 11 stops for CUAA.

Siena Heights held a 19-18 shot and 6-4 corner kick advantage over the Cardinals.

The Saints will return to action as they head to Lawrence Tech for a 3 p.m. WHAC contest, on Friday.
