#16 Women's Soccer Cruises Past Roosevelt

ADRIAN, Mich. – Taylor Mulder scored a hat trick to help lift the Siena Heights women's soccer team to a 9-1 victory over non-conference opponent Roosevelt (Ill.), on Friday.

Erin Scheidel opened up the scoring in the second minute, finishing a cross from Danielle Eastman. In the third minute, Samantha Bartelotti finished a pass from Alexis Gainer. The Lakers found some life in the fourth minute when Mika Reid chipped the ball in to make it 2-1 with over 41 minutes left in the first half.

Siena Heights pulled away from the Lakers in the 15th minute when Emily Burkman finished a rebound off a Bartelotti shot. Also scoring in the first half was Barterlotti and Mulder.

In the second half, Emily Loar and Gainer each scored a goal, along with Mulder tacking on two more goals.

Winning goalkeeper Taylor Hill stopped three shots in net for the Saints (2-2-1). Kara Jones made 12 saves for Roosevelt (0-4-0).

SHU outshot the Lakers, 31-9, and held a 5-2 corner kick advantage.

Siena Heights will be back in action on Sunday when the Saints take on Robert Morris (Ill.) for a 3:30 p.m. home contest.
