#25 Cumberland Overwhelms #16 Women's Soccer

LEBANON, Tenn. -- The 16th-ranked Siena Heights women's soccer team suffered a 3-0 defeat to 25th-ranked Cumberland (Tenn.)--the third Top-25 team the Saints have played this week--on Monday.

Emily Shires earned a hat trick for the Phoenixes (3-1-0), finishing two goals in the first half and one in the second half.

Goalkeeper Meghan Bogg started in net for the Saints, allowing two goals and making four saves before getting relieved by Taylor Hill in the 54th minute. Hill allowed one goal and made three stops. Ashley Kambeitz earned the shutout for CU, stopping three shots.

Taylor Mulder led SHU (1-2-1) with four shots, including one on frame. Shires led the Phoenixes with nine shots, six on target.

Cumberland outshot the Saints, 22-9, and held a 6-3 corner kick advantage.

SHU will be back in action on Saturday when the Saints host Roosevelt for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff.
